HELD - Donald G. “Heavy”

June 8, 2022 of Angola, NY, after a courageous battle with cancer. Beloved son of George C. and the late Nancy B. (Smith) Held. Dear brother of Russ (Jane), Dave (Marcia) Held, and Sue (Michael) Riegle. Uncle of several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to his loyal friends Jack Miller, Scott Chaplin, and Tom Latimore. For their help with many trips to Roswell Park and other appointments during his illness. Heavy was an avid sportsman. You would find him on a league playing horseshoes, corn hole, bowling, or cooking chicken for a friend or fundraiser. He had countless friends. Member of the Sturgeon Point sportsman’s club, past President of Stroh’s Athletic Club. A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, from 4 to 7 PM at the Sturgeon Point Sportsman’s club. Please wear a Hawaiian shirt in Heavy’s Honor. Flowers declined. If so desired, memorial donations can be made to the Sturgeon Point Sportsman’s Club, 9727 Erie Rd., Angola, NY 14006.
