Martin Carl Haberer “Marty”

December 13, 2023 of Angola, NY and beloved husband, father, uncle, brother, grandfather and great grandfather passed away at age 86 at home surrounded by his son’s Dennis, Kenneth and Micheal, Daughter Cynthia and daughter-in-law's Rachel and Pamela when he was taken Home to be with his Heavenly Father.

Marty, was born in North Collins, NY on November 6th, 1937 to Gertrude Haberer (Mayer) and Raymond Haberer of North Collins. He was one of 10 children which included James (deceased), Leo (deceased), Raymond (deceased), Blanche (deceased), Donald (deceased), Rosemarie (deceased), Francis (deceased), Richard (living), and Mary (living).

Marty served in the United States Army as a Military Police Officer in Korea. After returning home from Korea, he married Judith Ann Kelly of Lackawanna. After residing in North Collins for a few years, they moved to Angola NY in 1967 where they raised their four children, Dennis, Kenneth, Michael, and Cynthia. Marty worked at the Ford Stamping Plant in Lackawanna for many years as a Checker/loader before he retired. After spending so many years rolling out of bed at 5:00 am every morning for work, in retirement he continued to roll out of bed early. For many years, each morning he would start his day with meeting his buddies at Chicks Restaurant and then continuing the tradition at Tim Hortons in Angola.

Marty enjoyed mowing his lawn, hunting, camping, fishing, and playing the occasional round of golf with his kids and grandkids. AKA Papa, in his later years Marty enjoyed spending time with his grandkids working in his garage making things from wood and fixing just about anything. “If Papa can’t fix it no one can”.

Marty is survived by his sons – Dennis and wife Rachel of Serbin Texas, Kenneth and wife Pamela of Winchester Kentucky, Michael and daughter Cynthia Braunscheidel and husband Thomas of Lakeview NY; Sister- in-law Maureen Kelly, 12 -Grandchildren Christian Haberer and wife Nichole, Bradley Haberer and wife Kim, Shawna Haberer and fiancé’ Evan Horton, Samanth Gavin and husband Ryan, Kenneth and wife Haven, Melissa Tillinghast and husband Adam, Kayla Ohe and husband Ben, Jordan and wife Natalie, Tyler, Bella, Jacob Braunscheidel, Patty Braunscheidel – 11 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandson – Brother Richard and wife Carm, Sister Mary and husband William, dozens of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife Judy, his parents Gertrude and Raymond, His brothers Don, Raymond, Leo, James, Francis, Sisters Blanche and Rosemarie Strawder, Brother- in-law William Kelly

Visitations will be held at Latimore Schiavone Funeral Home, Inc. 8434 North Main St. Angola NY 14006 on 17 December 2023 from 10:30 to 12:00. Service will be held immediately following the visitation at the funeral home at 12:00.
